Proposed Neighborhood Parking Permit (NPP) Zone Expansion:
University Hill
This letter is to inform you of the proposed expansion of the University Hill Neighborhood
Parking Pernut Zone and a public open house on February 5, 2008. Included in this mailing is a
map of the existing University Hill NPP Zone and the blocks that qualified for the expansion of
the NPP.
The University Hill NPP requires vehicles parking on-street Monday through Friday from 9am to
Spm for more than 2 hours to have a NPP permit. Pernuts are issued to residents for $17 per year
and visitor and guest passes are also available with a resident pemut. Commuter pemuts are
issued per block, based on availability, for $78/quarter. Business pemuts area available for $75
per year. Sigmage is added to each block describing the parking requirements for each zone. For
more details on the NPP program visit our web site at: www.boulderparkin .¢ com, scrolling down
to the NPP link.
The parking restrictions for the University Hill NPP are:
• Monday - Friday
• 9am to Spm
• 2 hour maximum limit without a permit.
Any vehicle parking for more than 2 hours within the zone restrictions without a valid pernut will
be eligible for a$20 parldng citation. Parking management personnel will be patrolling the NPP
districts for compliance with this ordinance as well as other City of Boulder parking violations.
Your feedback is important. You may either email your comments or questions to
winterm("a),bouldercolorado. *~ov or attend a public open house regarding all the proposed NPP
zone expansions (University Hill, Goss Grove, and Columbine). The open house will be
Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from Spm to 7pm in the lobby of the Municipal Building at the
corner of Broadway and Canyon in dowatown Boulder.
Following the public open house, the proposed new NPP zones will be presented at a public
hearing tentatively scheduled for March 10, 2008, at the Transportation Advisory Board for their
recommendation. Then the zone proposals will be presented to the Boulder City Counci] for a
public hearing to create the new zone ordinances. Once there aze the fmal number of blocks
within the NPPs, staff would need to determine if there is enough budget to implement all the
zones in 2008 and then establish an implementation schedule.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Molly Winter
