This decision may be called up before Planning Board on or before
December 23, 2009
A Floodplain Development Permit was approved by Planning and Development staff on
December 9, 2009. The project involves replacing an existing exterior staircase on the
New Britain Building which is within the flood conveyance zone of Boulder Creek.
The proposed project includes removal of the existing deteriorated staircase on the north
side of the New Britain Building and replacing it with a new staircase. The project is`
needed to address safety concerns and meet current building code requirements. The
applicant has demonstrated that the project will not adversely impact the floodplain or
cause a rise in the floodwater elevation during the 100-year flood event. A copy of the
floodplain development permit is attached.
This floodplain development permit was approved by Planning and Development
Services staff on December 9, 2009, and the decision may be called up before Planning
Board on or before December 23, 2009. There is one Planning Board meeting within the
required 14-day call-up period on December 17, 2009. Questions regarding this

project/activity.
• The applicant shall obtain a site inspection and approval from the City of Boulder Floodplain and Wetlands
Coordinator upon completion of the project.
Construction activities must not change existing grades.
Construction activities must not encroach into any regulatory wetland area.
