PROCLAMATION
A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING THE DEDICATION AND
SERVICE OF SIGRID NOLL UEBLACKER
TO THE RAPTORS GRACING THE FRONT RANGE
1981 -2009
WHEREAS, Sigrid Noll Ueblacker had a strong commitment to protecting
and helping birds of prey in the region; she provided vision, dedication and
leadership in a number of ways:
• Sigrid became a licensed raptor rehabilitator in 1981;
• Sigrid founded the Birds of Prey Foundation in 1984;
• Sigrid treated over 10,000 birds, giving an immeasurable boost to
America's raptor population;
• Sigrid conducted training seminars in bird rehabilitation;
• Since the 1980s, Sigrid taught in classrooms and elsewhere, bringing
with her birds who were unable to be released back into the wild, and
enchanting students of all ages;
• Sigrid inspired many people to learn about birds of prey, as well as to
volunteer their time to rehabilitate and protect them; and
• Sigrid's efforts were far reaching and touched many.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Tauscher, Chair of the Open Space Board of
Trustees, do hereby proclaim that the leadership exhibited by Sigrid Noll
Ueblacker has been instrumental in benefiting raptors on open lands in the
region. Her contributions are deeply appreciated.
Proclaimed this 9t" day of December, in the year 2009, on behalf of the Open
Space Board of Trustees and the Open Space and Mountain Parks
