1. CALL TO ORDER
The roll having been called, Chair T. Plass declared a quorum at 6:07 p.m. and the
following business was conducted.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
On a motion by J. Spitzer, seconded by L. Payton, the Landmarks Board approved (5-0) the
minutes of the October 7, 2009 Board meeting.

4. DISCUSSION OF LANDMARK ALTERATION AND DEMOLITION
APPLICATIONS ISSUED AND PENDING
5. PUBLIC HEARINGS
LANDMARK DESIGNATION:
A. Public hearing and consideration of an application to designate the property at 1937 Spruce
Street as a local historic landmark per Section 9-11-5 of the Boulder Revised Code, 1981
(HIS2009-00164). Owner: Power Venture, LLC, Applicant: Eric Smith Associates, P.C.

Board members were asked to reveal any ex parte contacts they may have had on this item.
J. Spitzer, L. Payton, and L. May reviewed a landmark alteration certificate application for the
property at the design review committee. J. Spitzer and L. Podmajersky made a site visit.
Applicant's Presentation
Tom Jarmon, ESA Architects, spoke in support of landmark designation.
Public Hearing
Abby Daniels, 1123 Spruce Street, Historic Boulder, spoke in support of landmark designation.
Motion
On a motion by J. Spitzer, seconded by L. May, the Landmarks Board recommended (5-0) to
City Council that the property at 1937 Spruce Street be designated as a local historic landmark,
to be known as the Sherwood House, finding that the property meets the standards for individual
landmark designation in Sections 9-11-1 and 9-11-2, B.R.C., 1981 and adopted the staff
memorandum dated November 4, 2009 as findings of the Board.
LANDMARK DESIGNATION:
B. Public hearing and consideration of an application to designate the property at 1017 Maxwell
Avenue as a local historic landmark per Section 9-11-5 of the Boulder Revised Code, 1981
(HIS2009-00186). Owner/Applicant: Cindy and Larry Morphew
Board members were asked to reveal any ex parte contacts they may have had on this item.
J. Spitzer, L. May and T. Plass reviewed a landmark alteration certificate application for the
property at the Landmarks design review committee, and J. Spitzer and T. Plass made a site
visit. L. Payton had no ex-parte contacts. L. Podmajersky recused due to living within 300
feet of the property.

Motion
On a motion by L. Payton, seconded by L. May, the Landmarks Board recommended (4-0, L.
Podmajersky recused) to City Council that the property at 1017 Maxwell Avenue as a local
historic landmark to be known as the Inglis House, finding that the property meets the standards
for individual landmark designation in Sections 9-11-1 and 9-11-2, B.R.C., 1981 and adopted the
staff memorandum dated November 4, 2009 as findings of the Board.
