A digital recording and a permanent set of these minutes (maintained for a period of seven years) are retained in Central Records at 303-441-3043. You may also listen to the recording online. BOARD MEMBERS: Renee Golobic, Chair - present virtually Michael Ray, Vice Chair - present virtually Chelsea Castellano - present virtually Abby Daniels - present virtually John Decker - present virtually STAFF MEMBERS: Chris Reynolds, Attorney, City Attorney’s Office – present virtually Kristofer Johnson, Comprehensive Planning Senior Manager - present virtually Marcy Gerwing, Principal Historic Preservation Planner - present virtually Clare Brandt, Historic Preservation Planner – present virtually Aubrey Noble, Historic Preservation Program Coordinator – present virtually 1. CALL TO ORDER The roll having been called, Chair R. Golobic declared a quorum at 6:03 p.m. and the following business was conducted. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On a motion by R. Golobic, seconded by M. Ray the Landmarks Board approved (5-0) the minutes from the May 7, 2025 Landmarks Board meeting. 3. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FOR NON-PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS [04:25.00 audio minutes] The following members of the public spoke: 1. Leonard Segel 4. DISCUSSION OF LANDMARK ALTERATION AND DEMOLITION APPLICATIONS ISSUED AND PENDING • None 5. PUBLIC HEARING A. [08:24.00 audio minutes] Public hearing and consideration of an application to demolish a building constructed c. 1905 at 2889 Valmont Rd. (HIS2025-00078), a non-landmarked property older than 50 years old, pursuant to Section 9-11-23 of the Boulder Revised Code, 1981, and under the procedures prescribed by chapter 1-3, “Quasi-Judicial Hearings,” B.R.C. 1981. Ex Parte Contacts None Staff Presentation C. Brandt presented the application to the board, recommending the Landmarks Board approve the demolition application. Applicant’s Presentation Christie Burkhart, representing Boulder Valley Health Center and Rosi Dennett, Front Range Land Solutions, presented to the board. Public Comment The following members of the public spoke: 1. Carol Byerly 2. Deborah Holvey 3. Margo Josephs 4. Paula Stone Williams 5. Jess Pieklo 6. Jessica Newman – Acrisure 7. Molly Daniels Motion On a motion by C. Castellano, seconded by M. Ray, the Landmarks Board voted (5-0) to approve the application to demolish the building at 2889 Valmont Rd., and adopt as findings the staff memorandum, finding that the buildings do not meet the criteria set forth in section 9-11-23(f), B.R.C. 1981. 6. MATTERS [01:16:00.00 audio minutes] - Will welcome Historic Preservation Trainee at next meeting - M. Gerwing will be a panelist at the Saving Our Past Film Festival this Sunday, June 8.
