8:30 a.m. – Review agenda, participate in teambuilder
9:00 a.m. – Review OYVA event
YOAB concluded new venue (JCC) was a huge improvement for the event, and
members were impressed with the accomplishments and presentations of the awardees.
9:15 a.m. – Parlando Tickets/World Dance Tickets
9:30 a.m. – Confirm new Membership
New members were unanimously agreed upon and confirmed: Eve Abraham,
Gabriela Aguijosa, Anelie Dahl, NolaRose Fanestil, Lily Margolis, Ricardo Reyes, and Barclay
Shove. Brandon will inform the selected and non-selected students of the decision.
10:00a.m. – National Restorative Justice Convention Discussion
Amy McMahon spoke to the group regarding the June 2019 National Restorative
Justice Convention to be held in Denver. YOAB was very interested in the assisting in organizing
the youth component of the conference, and will consider it as an action team for next fall.
10:45 a.m. – Group Activities Grant Discussion-
IHDF, ECoArts
YOAB voted unanimously to provide full funding for both IHDF and EcoArts.
11:45 a.m. – Lunch- Tokyo Joes
1:00 p.m. – Vote 16 Discussion
Carmen reviewed the City Council study session memo and discussed the viability
of YOAB leading a citizen initiative to get Vote16 on the ballot, and whether it makes sense to
form an action team for next year on Vote16. She will confirm the plausibility with the city
attorney.
1:30 p.m. – Meeting with Bryan Bullock, Communications Manager, Digital Content
Bryan suggested having a youth voice in the Communications department’s social
media presence, and YOAB was excited to potentially form an action team for next year to
support this initiative.
2:00p.m. - Claudia Urrutia on Youth Mentoring
YOAB provided Claudia with several outreach suggestions to find volunteers for
Columbine Elementary for the forthcoming school year.
2:05 p.m. – Group Activities Grant Discussion-
