Dear Open Space Trustees
My name is John Tiangco. I have been a resident of Boulder since 1975. I live in the Keewaydin
subdivision of south Boulder.
I am very concerned about the transfer of Open Space land for the purpose of constructing a flood
control dam. While the issue of CU South has been studied for many years, many hydrological
professionals and experts, as well as environmentalists, have expressed themselves that this is a bad
idea. The risks are great and the rewards are not guaranteed.
There is also the issue of permits for the dam as well as CDOT approval which have not been
obtained.
I wholehearted support the position of Peter Mayer and the Save South Boulder (SOBO) in this
matter.
