RE_ Tennis court dilemma_Redacted External Sender Notice This email was sent by an external sender. There has been mention that there are plans to build numerous tennis and pickleball courts at the East Boulder Rec center to help deal with the tennis court dilemma. Outdoor courts are nice but tennis players, the serious ones, play tennis two to three times a week. They don't buy one can of balls, they buy a case of tennis balls. Tennis is a way of life for them twelve months of the year, every year. There are thousands of these players in the immediate area. Without indoor facilities [the need approaches two, or three facilities in the area of six or seven courts], all high school and young junior players are without courts for practicing and instruction. A junior player will play 8-12 hours each week for fifty two weeks. A tennis family that has the entire family looking for a place to live will skip Boulder Country. CU is faced with the possibility of dropping women's tennis. All of these participants will pay money for court time. None of the bureaucracies in the area have any fortitude to fix this money making endeavor. Why those responsible for providing healthful sports activities have elected to fail to provide indoor facilities will be held accountable for twenty or more years. Why did Boulder County elect to get rid of tennis? As you know there are people in the area who are willing to provide money to build indoor courts. Hopefully you will be at the forefront for them to accomplish their goals, Best to Alison,
