I’ll let Tina and Mark weigh in on the timeline of answers at East/HP! Is August realistic for answers and December 2025 for having this operational? Hi Thank you for this note and for reaching out to me to ask what you might do. I have seen some emails that aren't reporting accurately what our department has been doing and so appreciate the opportunity to provide an update. With our Court System Plan, we were able to evaluate available parkland for additional courts. As it relates to indoor, we do believe we have a temporary option to explore and will know more by the end of August if this option is feasible. In 2025, we intend to build UP TO 8 new dedicated tennis courts at East Boulder Community Park. Within the footprint of the current park, the configuration limits any indoor options. But if we are able to develop on adjacent city-property, designated as potential parkland, at Hogan Pancost, we MAY have the space to POTENTIALY PROVIDE four INDOOR courts seasonally. We are working hard to make that possible and again, will know more about feasibility in the next two months. That will not solve the issue this winter for folks who have historically played at RMTC, as construction is not possible until next year. It would, however, provide community-based indoor tennis next year and we believe could be a great win. So this is not a promise that it will happen, but it is a commitment that we're exploring it with diligence, rigor, and a lot of hope. There really isn't anything you can do at this point other than stay in the loop. If we determine we can move forward, tennis community members will want to pay attention to any public meetings or project approval discussions at PRAB, Planning Board or City Council; you can stay in the loop on those opportunities by signing up for updates on our Court System Plan page: Tennis and Pickleball Court System Plan | City of Boulder (bouldercolorado.gov) Please let me know if you have any questions. Hello Ali, I hope you are doing well! My name is I am a resident of Boulder and I was among the speakers at the June 24 board meeting, advocating for more tennis courts in Boulder - and specifically for winterized/indoor courts. I am reaching out simply to connect and see what you believe is the most effective course of action for myself, and several other Tennis friends who are really saddened by the current closure of RMTC and scratching our heads about how to continue our passion, fitness and recreation this winter and thereafter. I want to advocate effectively, respectfully and efficiently, so I thought I would start with you to get your guidance for next steps for myself and hundreds (thousands really) of other tennis players in Boulder and the surrounding areas, who are consistently in communication with each other about what to do on this subject. I look forward to your thoughts and wish you a very lovely Fourth of July holiday! I include and , tennis enthusiasts and friends, on this email. Thank you,
