Thank you for sharing your concern about accessibility at Boulder Parks and Recreation (BPR) tennis courts – I really appreciated you following up as we take access for all seriously. I hope you would be willing to share more or chat with me about this concern. Our team has confirmed today that the courts are the East Boulder Community Center are accessible via a flat entry and a gate that is 44” inches wide. Our understanding is that the ADA standard for access is 32” and so I would really appreciate knowing more about the barrier you have encountered accessing city courts. While our operations folks are busy with snow removal today, we will continue measuring across the system and then post the accessibility of BPR tennis courts online here to ensure that information is readily available. I also wanted to let you know that the courts at East Boulder Community Center, North Boulder Recreation Center, and Tom Watson Park are lighted. We recognize the courts at Tom Watson are sub-standard and will remedy their condition in 2023. Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us, we really appreciate it. External Sender Rosa, I’m sorry that I lost my wifi connection when one of the members asked me a question. I think you wrote, “what tennis courts are not accessible?” My answer is that I haven’t played at every court, the recreation courts at N.Boulder, E. Boulder, and S. Boulder do not have wide enough gates to accommodate my wheelchair and/or my tennis wheelchair. The same is true for the Centennial Jr. High courts. Also, I’m not aware of any of these courts having lights or indoor facilities. If you would like to discuss this more, feel free to contact me at ( Thank you!
