I saw in an earlier email (I think without you on i that the city hadn’t cleaned the p-a-p for nine months. I seriously doubt that is true. That p-a-p gets constant use from the biking community, which uses the park as a take-off point and often fills the entire parking lot on weekends with their cars (which means 50 - 75 cars on a given morning). The p-a-p is mostly there for the biking communities’ use… They surely would have filled the p-a-p to exploding in a month or two, let alone nine months. Also, I’ve checked it out at various times over the last couple of months — and definitely once before our 55 season started — and sometimes it’s clean, and sometimes it’s pretty gross. So someone must be servicing it occasionally. Although it’s possible they haven’t been recording their service calls in on the p-a-p door like they’re supposed to. I only bring this up because I just don’t think it helps our credibility to make outrageous claims when asking for the better service we deserve. As far as having our own p-a-p, a as already mentioned, that has been an ongoing nightmare. We tried having our own p-a-p at Centennial MS last year. First we left it open for anyone to use as a public service. That worked until some kids threw a cherry bomb into the hole and blew the thing up. Then it took two weeks without a p-a-p before the company we contracted with replaced it. Then we decided to put a lock on it and just share the combination with the Saturday morning drop-in organizers and the team captains who used Centennial for league. Within a week or so the lock disappeared. So leaving it open doesn’t work v y ell, and locking it doesn’t work at all. Also, it’s problematic for BTA to pay for a p-a-p and insurance and service when the large majority of people using it are not tennis players. It’s definitely a Parks Dept. responsibility. So my vote is to do what we’re doing, and work with Parks to make sure they stay on top of their service schedule. Hopefully we’ll hear back soon after the holiday. — On May 27, 2024, at 10:53 AM wrote: Thank you!!!!
