CALL TO ORDER The roll having been called, Chair A. Daniels declared a quorum at 6:01 p.m. and the following business was conducted. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On a motion by A. Daniels, seconded by J. Decker the Landmarks Board approved (4-0, R. Golobic absent) the minutes from the April 3, 2024 Landmarks Board meeting. 3. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FOR NON-PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS [05:38.00 audio minutes] The following members of the public spoke: 1. Peter Weber 2. Kathryn Barth 3. Lynn Segal 4. DISCUSSION OF LANDMARK ALTERATION AND DEMOLITION APPLICATIONS ISSUED AND PENDING [16:53.00 audio minutes] • 2260 Baseline Rd – Stay of Demolition expires June 1, 2024 • 613 Walnut St., stay expires June 6, 2024 o The board took no action. 5. PUBLIC HEARING [57:52:00.00 audio minutes] A. [57:54.00 audio minutes] Public hearing and consideration of an application to designate the building and property at 904 Mapleton Ave. (HIS2023-00262) as a local Historic Landmark, pursuant to Section 9-11-5 of the Boulder Revised Code, 1981. Brandt presented the application to the board, recommending the Landmarks Board approve the designation application. Owner’s Presentation Anne Sandoe presented the application and answered questions from the board. Public Comment The following members of the public spoke: 1. Lynn Segal Motion [01:29:24.00 audio minutes] On a motion by R. Golobic, seconded by J. Decker the Landmarks Board voted (5-0) to designate the property at 904 Mapleton Ave. as a local historic landmark, to be known as the Gardiner- Sandoe House, finding that it meets the standards for individual landmark designation in Sections 9-11-1 and 9-11-2, B.R.C. 1981, and adopt the staff memorandum dated May 1, 2024, as the findings of the board. [01:30:00.00 audio minutes] Public hearing and consideration of an application to demolish a house and accessory building constructed c. 1938 at 3139 7th St. (HIS2024-00045) a non- landmarked building over 50 years old, pursuant to Section 9-11-23 of the Boulder Revised Code, 1981. Brandt presented the application to the board, recommending the Landmarks Board approve the demolition application. Owner’s Presentation Kyle Plantico and Margaret Freund presented the application and answered questions from the board. Public Comment The following members of the public spoke: 1. Lynn Segal Motion [02:01:00.00 audio minutes] On a motion by R. Pelusio seconded by R. Golobic the Landmarks Board voted (5-0) to adopt the findings of the staff memorandum dated May 1, 2024 and approve the demolition application for the buildings at 3139 7th St., finding that the buildings to be demolished does not have significance under the criteria set forth in section 9-11-23(f), B.R.C. 1981. 6.
