Historic Boulder Inc.has reviewed the most immediate one, the Mid-Century Modern, single family house, located at 550 13th street and has this to say about it: Historic Boulder Inc. understands that the owners requested a partial demolition of the primary structure and we know that even partial demolitions can be detrimental to historic integrity. Historic Boulder supports the Landmarks Board if they institute a Stay of Demolition on this property in order for members of the public, including HBI, to gain a full understanding of the historic merits of the property. An additional benefit is for the city to have the time to discuss with the owners ways to make alterations without diminishing the architectural character of this unique property. We are looking forward to seeing the staff's memorandum about the property. Please let me know if you have any questions about this preservation advocacy by HBI. .............Leonard Leonard Segel, AIA Executive Director - Historic Boulder, Inc.Boulder, Colorado USA303/579-8308Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho Territories email: leonard@historicboulder.org website: www.historicboulder.org Click HERE to Join or Renew!
