We are a nearby neighbor of this property, and oppose granting the ability to for the
two story addition to be constructed. While the general notion of an owner of a
property reconstructing their property for their own needs to improve their living space
is appropriate, I don't think it is appropriate for someone who is "flipping" the home to
do so for sole purpose of making money in this historic neighborhood. That is the
case, I believe, with this home.
I wouldn't be so concerned but the same owner reconstructed the property just two
houses away at 1014 Mapleton a few years ago. The noise, pollution, and
inconvenience of reconstructing that home went on for nearly two years, and was
extremely disruptive to our quality of life as well as all the neighbors in the area. The
owner then sold the property but never lived there. The owner didn't have to live with
the inconvenience. The idea of this happening again is problematic.
Thank you for your consideration.
