Let’s Take A Look: Public Portal Accessed on the City’s Main Page of the Website on the Ribbon Bar: Has preset search and browseoptions available. “Search” utilized to narrow down what you are looking for. “Browse” let’s you look around and find what you know you are looking for. Enter Public Portal HERE Your “MAIN” Landing Page: NOTE:As of July 2014, the City of Boulder utilizes the Colorado Municipal Records Retention Schedule which Provides clear uniform guidelines for the retention and disposition of City records. These links will provide you with search “templates” designed for the group of records you are seeking.These links will allow you to “browse” files by levels such as folder, item, year, etc. Searching All Documents Within Repository… Basic search Used to search the entire repository (all documents) Can be used to search single words or complex terms Most common way to search Search Box Searching Tips: Choose “unique” words to search that pertain only to the document you are looking for (i.e.vendor names, specific numbers, grant type, etc.). Once the search results are completed, sort the results by the area that best fits your needs (i.e.name of document, date created, number of pages, etc.). This can be achieved by clicking on the “SORT RESULTS BY” menu at the top left of your search results page. Locating a document might be easier if you look in the file folder (searching is not always required to find a document. In some cases, browsing can be effective to find the exact document you are looking for). Utilizing quotation marks to close your word or term narrows your search results (i.e.“prairie dogs” searches for the 2 words together in a document and not “prairie” and “dogs” separate). This is suggested with all searches.
