The City of Bouldci puichased a 102-acie patcel of land m Che vicm~ry of lhe Valmont
Butte m SeptemUei 2000 The acquisition was a~omt purchase of thiee Cily depaitments,
mcluding Open Space and Mountam Parks, Fiie, and Public Works The Public Woiks
Department is propostng to consti~ict a Biosohds Compostmg Facility on Che eastern end
of the propeity. The Fire Departmcnt ~s proposmg to constiuct a Fne Trairung Centei on
the centei portion of the pioperty. The Open Space and Mountam Paiks Department
portion of the properly will seive as a buffei on the noith and west sides of tlie piopeity
and will be protected under the City Charter foi Open Space puiposes.
