5 - Meeting AgendaMEMORANDUM • To: Planning Board From: Jean Gatza Date: July 15, 2002 Be: July 25, 2002 Meeting Agenda The Planning Board Capital Improvements Program (CIP) hearing is Thursday July 25, 2002 beginning at 3:00 pm in Council Chambers. Each department with a C1P submission will be represented at the meeting, with the exception of the Information Technology Department, Housing and Human Services, and Fire (no 2003 CIP projects) and the Downtown and University Hill Management Division (no new projects). The following agenda and procedure will be used. The format allows Planning Boud action on each department CIP in sequence, rather than having all motions considered at the end of the evening, and it allows each department's staff to be available to the Planning Board for both the discussion and the Boazd's action. MEETING Afternoon Session is 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm with a dinner break close to 6:00 depending on presentations. The evening session is 6:30 pm to adjournment 1. Brief overview and highlight of CIP policy issuas by planning staff. 2. Public hearing; citizens can address issues for any CIP project. 3. Review of the 2003-2008 CIP for each department in seqaence. • Each department staff has 5-10 minutes to address issues. After the overview, staff will respond to Planning Boazd questions. Staff have been asked to address the following issues and questions: a). Highlights of the 2003-2008 CIP & discussion of any issues b). What is the wrrelation of your department's CIP to adopted subcommunity/area plans? Which of your CIP projects address the implementation of adopted plans? c). Acknowledgment of department projects on the list for a CEAP. 4. Planning Boud makes motions and recommendations on each department CIP in sequence. Review of the list of CEAP projects and Planning Board action by motion. •
