"Wordsmithing" for the Mission Statement will be done post-workshop by MPAT,
and will be presented at the November PRAB meeting for approval.
Any outcome that is significantly different from original intent of bond language ~

Definitions:
Mission Statement: As faz reaclung as possible. The purpose and duection for VCP.
What will this park look like in 2015? What do you see for the future? How will it be
used? What will the benefits be for the citizens? How will it relate to Boulder and the
Region? Who will it serve? What makes this pazk different from other parks?
Goals: Those rtems that need to be accomplished to make the Mission Statement true.
May be tune-based.

• Restoration of farm houses
• Create a"Friends of Valmont" non-profit group
• Integrate IPM, recycling, and water conservation
• Use volunteers and local groups
• Have adequate parking
• Incorporate environmentally sensitive design, materials, energy use, transportation,
viewsheds, and wildlife migration
• Develop the financial components, philosophy, cost model, and assumptions for
economic sustainability
• Form a property management committee wtuch includes key partners
• Conduct penodic study and surveys to anricLpate fizture needs
• Develop the appropriate use of technology
• Monitor and evaluate success
• Have exit strategies in place for pro~ects
• Have a clear delineation of responsibiht~es between the City and partners
• Continually utilize a structure that uicorporates a wise conflict resolution and
decision-making that occurs in a timely manner for paztnered projects
