Clarke - President Ms Clarke has been involved with many aspects of ice skating since the age of nine, as a competitor in both figure skating and hockey She held the positions of Head Coach and Ice Show Director for three years at the Urnversity of Colorado Ice Arena, in addition to playing on the CU Women's Hockey Team Dunng her tenure as Head Coach of the Figure Skatmg Club at the Urnversity of Colorado, membership m all programs from learn-to-skate to the annual CU Ice Show increased dramatically She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Magna Cum Laude Honors from the Urnversity of Colorado Ms Clarke's management expenence includes work with the PeakArts Academy, where she oversaw registration procedures, computer-based student and faculty records, lesson and studio scheduling, and general office admmistrat~on CurrenUy the president of Boulder Ice, Ms Clarke is also an ~nformation speaalist for Downtown Boulder and a substitute coach at the Sun Microsystems Ice Centre in Westminster Robert S. Clarke - Vice-President As the founder and president of Boulder-based Alpen, Inc , manufacturer of the world's highest performance insulating glass, Robert Clarke has been involved in energy-efficient design and corporate management since 1980 Within Boulder Ice, he oversees ali aspects of fundraismg, budgeting and financial reportmg Mr Clarke holds a Bachelor of Saence degree from Pnnceton University and an MBA from Stanford University With Mr Ciarke's expertise and counsel, Boulder Ice wdl emphasize energy efficiency m every aspect of its design and operaUon Mr Clarke was first launched on hockey skates in a Duluth back yard at age 3, and went on to play Pnnceton varsity hockey, coach at the Lawrencewlle School in New Jersey, and serve as president of the Boulder Valley Hockey Associat~on He remams an active participant in senior men's hockey /'~~ Elizabeth Lichtenstein - Secretary Ms L~chtenstein dreamed of being mvolved in the world of ic~skating since she was eight years oid As an adult, she finally took up figure skating on her lunch breaks whde working in corporate sales in New York City Ms Lichtenstein moved to the Rocky Mountains in 1994 and soon began coaching at Dobson Ice Arena in Vail, Colo After developing and leading skaUng instruction programs for the Town of Avon and Beaver Creek Resort for three years, Ms Lichtenstem headed to Boulder to attend the Urnversrty of Colorado and conUnue to coach ice skating ~"'+- locally She eamed a B S in Journalism with Honors and Distinction and wrote freelance market~ng and Web ~ content for a dot-com and a local nonprofit She is currenUy worwng on a database conversion pro~ect for the CU Foundation and bnngs a vanety of marketing, organizational and ieadership skdls to Boulder Ice Ciark Smyth - Treasurer Ciark Smyth is the founder and presideM of the Fleisher-Smyth Co, a real estate development, acqwsition, management and brokerage firm with 1 2 million square feet of buildings In his past life he was a high school English teacher and comptrolier of the Aspen Music School. He has a BA from Colgate Unrversity and an MBA from the Unrversity of Virgmia He has spent much of his life around frozen ponds and ice nnks as a hockey player and coach Eilen Arnold - Director Ms. Amold's mvolvement with skatmg began when she learned to skate as a student at the Umversity of Denver. After graduat~on from DU she earned a Ph D. in Pharmacology at the Umversity of Colorado School of Medicine She continued skahng throughout graduate school but eventually gave it up as she became more involved in her career, which began with research and teaching in the Department of Psychiatry at the CU School of MediGne Ms Amold later ~oined Syntex Corporation, a ma~or pharmaceutical firm, as a Health and Regulatory Affairs Analyst She held a vanety of management positions withm Syntex, including Director of Enwronmental Affairs Ms Arnold also has an M.A in Counseling and has served on the Family Therapy Team at The Counseling Center m Boulder She is a member and Past President of The Counselmg Center's Board of Directors and previously was a member of the People's Clinic Board of Directors.
