CLASS Software SoluuonsOO Softwaze Computenzed ImgaUon Control System GPS/GIS System for Environmental Services CLASS Presentation and Demonstration ~ Pazks and Recreanon uses CLASS Softwaze Soluuons ~O Software for the customer service and busmess transactrons of providmg recreat~on servtces to cirizens. Tlus mcludes class registraUOn, pomt of sale cash registers, punch cazd and memberstup sales, and facihty scheduling. The CLASS system, coupled with appropnate busmess pracaces, provides management mformation and stahsucs, accounung and mtemal controls and allows us to meet cihzens' expectat~ons for modern busmess practices. Tlus year, several long-planned-for sofrware and busmess process enhancements were implemented, such as mtegrated pomt of sale and web registrat~on. Parks and Recreation have the first e-commerce apphcation in use m the Crty of Boulder. Staff will give the PRAB an overnew of the business system, demonstrate its uses, highhght the enhanced services and controls implemented m 2001, and explazn further pro~ects planned m the future Irrigation Project Demonstration The Envuonmental Audit of Apn13Q 2001, conducted by PKM Design Group, Inc. recommended as one of their findmgs, an upgrade to the computenzed imgarion control system. The Motorola Master Controller system, used by the Pazks and Recreation Department, is an mvaluable tool for water management It allows centrahzed management of the Department r~^ ~ wide system, and allows quick reacrion to weather conditions and locahzed problems. The system has not been fully implemented Department wide The Department is anacipatmg ~" initianng Phase 1 of a two-phase proJect to replace computer imgation controllers, valves and " backflow devices and covers in a number of parks begmning m 2002. The Department has budgeted $296,736 for phase 1 of the pro~ect, based on Council approval of the 2002 budget. Pazks Drvision staff will be bnngmg addrtional mformauon to the Pazks and Recreauon Advisory Board and will bnng and demonstrate the components that will be purchased to complete the mihal phase of ttus pro~ect. GPS/GIS System for Environmental Services Envuonmental Resources is developmg a GPS and GIS system to map, momtor and develop management achons for mvasive weed species Tlus data will track mechanical, cultural, biological and cheaucal control actions.
