I understand that many years ago when the facility was built, the onginal plan called for an even lazger gymnasium than the one in use now The onguial plans were scaled back an the gymnasrics program has made due with the 6700' facility they now have. In the new remodel, an addition of approximately 5000' has been requested, thereby bringmg the facility close to the original plans laid out long ago Our family has been consistently involved m the City gymnastics program for over five yeazs and we have seen the constant growth and overcrowding of the facility presently in use Much of the equipment is too close together and so many apparatus are being stored along the walls, creatmg a hazazd to the young gymnasts who must maneuver azound them For safety reasons, ttus space should be enlazged to accommodate the many young gymnasts and their mstructors T'he enlargement of the facihty will accommodate the over 1100 kids using the facihty in a manner that is conducive to the quality of gymnastics program to which we have all become accustomed Ttus is a fine program and the staff is so very dedicated. They have made due wrth the facility the way rt is for so long, hopmg that some day it would be expanded LeYs make theu wishes a prionty in this remodel pro~ect and give us all the space needed for this program Smcerely, ~ac~.~2,- (~~ ~" Kathleen Skibrtsky ~
