Burke Pazk Signage Purpose: To review and provide any comment on proposed signage for Admiral Arleigh A. Burke Pazk Staff is requesting Boazd review of this Item for Discussion The Board approved a plan for an anchor to be placed m Admiral Arleigh A Burke Pazk in May of 2000. At that time the Boazd requested review of signage that would be placed azound the anchor. Signage mcludes: • text for a bronze plaque ( 84 in. by 24 m) to be placed on a new wall • text for donor pavers(12 in by36 in.) to be placed on walk leading up to wall • bronze bust plaque of Admiral Burke ~ • text and design for park identification sign '"' The attachments show the site plan location, anchor, walk, planter and wall design (see Attachment A) PAST BOARD ACTION: 1996-- PRAB approval renaming of pazk to Admual Arleigh A. Burke Pazk 1998-- PRAB approval of U.S. Naval artifact to be placed m pazk 2000-- (April) PRAB received and informally gave approval for concept plan to go through public process 2000-- ( June) PRAB voted 6- 0 to approve concept plan and install anchor in pazk In October, the city accepted the 26,000 pound anchor The anchor is being repainted and is m drydock at the Valmont Pazk site Admiral Arleigh A. Burke Pazk is a 6.5 acre neighborhood pazk located at Mohawk and Comanche m the Fraser Meadows neighborhood of East Boulder. The pazk includes a 2.6-acre lake, walkuig paths, grass, trees, and an open azr shelter. The location of the anchor (approximately 12 feet long and 5 feet wide) is at the north end of the park.
