Dear Members of the Board:
We are the property owners and neighbors located directly north of Eric and Meg Tilton.
Our address is 2115 5'~ St. We are in favor of the renovation/remodel of 2107 5~h, but
we have some serious reservations and concerns as to the required parking pad on the
property.
We are not in favor of the location of a forced off street parking pad. As the plan shows
now, the only place they could put it would be in the side yard located between our house
and theirs, which is something we do not want to have happen. Is your board approving
the rotation of the orientation of the front entry around to Mt View? Thus making the
existing north side yard the "back yard" of the house? If so, we certainly object to that
because in order to follow the set back rules on a parking pad, the only place to put one is
to the north between our two properties.
Curb cuts would have to be made and an actual driveway or some kind constructed up
and across what is now our adjacent front lawns. I hardly think that the Landmarks
Preservation Board would care for that, not to mention our neighbors directly across the
street from both of us.
We are urging the City and the Landmarks Board to exempt the owner from having off
street parking. There is already a parking space parallel to Mt.View for 2107 5'h to use
but it doesn't meet the 25 ft set back rules. However, forcing a parking pad to be located
between our two established front lawns is seems to defeat the purpose of keeping the
flavor of the neighborhood in tact. .
Sincerely,
