DISCUSSION OF LANDMARK ALTERATION AND DEMOLITION APPLICATIONS ISSUED AND PENDING R McHeyser updated the board on issues regarding Landmazk Alterations and Demolition applications. T. Plass discussed the demolition of the bungalows at 14`h Street. T. Plass noted that the demolition application for 517 15`h Street was withdrawn by the applicant. 5. ACTION ITEMS A. Public hearing and consideration of an application to designate the c. 1904 Grubb house located at 743 9th Street as a local landmark as per Section 10-13- 5(c) oF t6e Boulder Revised Code (HIS2005-00106). Public,hearing and consideration of a demolition permit application for a noa landmarkert building over 50 years in age constructed in c1900 and located at 2224,-2226 Pearl'Street, as per Section 10-13-23 of the Boulder Revised Code (IiI$2005-00141). . Rucker) the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Boazd recommended (5-0) that a I 80 day stay of demolition be imposed in order to consider alternatives to the demolition of the building, adopting the staff inemorandum dated August 3, 2005 as findings of the board. Public hearing and consideration of a Landmark Alteration Certiticate for the construction of a one-story, two-car 485 sq. ft. garage at 720 Mapleton Avenue in the Mapleton Hill Historic District (HIS2005-00142). May, the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board conditionally approved (4-1, R. Salance opposed) the Landmark Alteration Certificate for installation of clad windows at the new house at 454 Highland (HIS2005-00144), subject to the final approval of the details by the Landmarks Design Review Committee. Adoption of findings and conclusions was continued to a later meeting. 3 6. MATTERS FROM THE LANDMARKS BOARD, PLANNING DEPARTMENT, AND CITY ATTORNEY The Following items were discussed: • New Historic Preservation Planner • Valmont Butte • Training and Retreat • Chautauqua National Historic Landmark Application Motion: On a motion by L. Rucker, seconded by T. Plass the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Boazd supported (5-0) the application and listing of Colorado Chautauqua as a national landmark. ' • School issues (Washington, Mapleton, etc.) '' • Silver Lake Ditch • The board requested a copy of the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board procedural rules and regulations from 4~ie City Attornay's office. , ' z;.:~ 7.
