I am pleased to let you know that SBM has reached an accord with the Service
Employees International Un~on (SEIU) which effectively puts behind us the negative
environment that had been accompanying the umon's organizing efforts with our
employees m Colorado and elsewhere.
The Agreement ~s one in which all parties directly concemed --- the union, our
employees and our company --- can look to with a good sense of accomplishment and a
good understanding of the issues and [he~r resolut~on.
Employees will mamtain the respected right to self-determmat~on regarding umon
membership and our company will work with the umon in a neutral atmosphere and the
avo~dance of misunderstand~ng and hyperbole which oftentimes can accompany such
campaigns.
W~th mutual respect, the SEIU and SBM are happy that we have reached this agreement.
I wanted to let you know this as the matter had been before the Human Rights
Commission, and was an issue with which you took ~nterest
