Rc: Elmer's Twomile Creek Greenway Improvements Phase II
The purpose of this letter is to express public concerns regarding Phase 11 of the proposed Elmer's Twomile
Creek Greenway Improvements project. 1 am a homeowner at 3150 Eastwood Ct. in the Willowbrook
development. My property borders the eastern edge of the Willowbrook property and will be directly affected by
the proposed improvements.
Although I am not entirely against the project as a whole, the nature of my concern centers around the potential
removal of mature trees on the Willowbrook property. Directly behind my unit there currently exists (2) mature
trees, including a large Willow tree. For the 9+ years that I have owned this property I have cherished these trees
as a visual and audible barrier from the noise and commotion of 28`s street and the commercial properties directly
behind my unit, not to mention the beauty, shade and privacy that they provide. 1 am greatly concerned about the
potential removal of either of these trees if this project is approved.
1 firmly believe that removing these mature trees would have a large negative impact to the quality of life and
value of my property. The result would be a direct line-of-sight to 28`n Street, the Outback Saloon and the rear of
the shopping center. My unit will also be directly subjected to the noise created by 28`h Street and the
commercial properties.
As a Willowbrook homeowner that will be directly affected by this project, I request the following:
• The GAC thoroughly consider the negative impact to Willowbrook homeowners caused by the removal of
mature trees prior to approving either of the alternatives proposed for Phase 11 of this project, specifically the
negative impact caused by the removal of mature trees directly behind 3150 Eastwood Ct.
• That should Phase 11 be approved, the final design for either alternative requires the preservation of all of the
mature trees on the Willowbrook property, specifically those directly behind 3150 Eastwood Ct.
• That any motion of approval by the GAC will include a stipulation that requires continued involvement with
the homeowners of Willowbrook to ensure that the final design preserves the quality of life of the
Willowbrook homeowners directly affected by this project.
Since I am currently unfamiliar with the processes surrounding these types of public projects, I will continue to
investigate my options to raise awareness to my concerns surrounding this project.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
l~~
