Swearing in of New Member, Rolt Call and Approval of Minutes from March 17, 2004
Cam Marshall was sworn in as the new member of the Authoritv and roll call was taken,
member Gowen was absent, there was a quorum.
Approval of Minutes -March 17, 2004
Tucker moved seconded bv Corielle that the Authoritv aanroves the minutes as
submitted. Motion carries 4-0.
2. Matters from the Pohce Department
Of~cer Janet Aeuirre wanted to notifv the Authoritv that the aolice will be chaneine their
policv on fake ID's In the past the Police DepartmenYs policv has been when
respondine to ID disnutes if the partv present at the eatablishment is not causine a
disturbance the establishment would confiscates ID's. For the next three months if a
partV uses a fake ID and the establishment contacts the nolice to reanond an officer will
now issue a summons and or arrest the partv for the fake ID. Procedures are currenClv
being drawn un bV the Police Department for establishments on how theV handle the
chanse and officers will be dispatched on calls received based on availabilitv.
Mav 28 2004 is Snecial Olvmpics Dav and the Police Denartment will be workine with the
RFIG on various aspect of reco~nition There will be a Law Enforcement Torch Run, t-
shirts and other items sold Several establishments from the HRG will be particinatine bY
offering discounts to neonle wearine t-shirts.
Member Tucker inquired as to enforcement on the hill durinc CU Graduation. Officer
AGUirre stated that there would be increased enforcement beginning this weekend and
continuinc for the next three weeks. There will be extra officers on foot as well as in
patrol cars.
4. Public Hearing and Consideratron of A February 23, 2004 application from The Hasa
Group, Inc., d/b/a Hapa on the Hill, 1220 Pennsylvania Ave., Mark Van Grack, 4854 Fantam
St., Pres./Tres., Laurie Van Grack, 4854 Fantam St., VP/Sec., Ken Yuasa, 1610 Jimson Ct.,
Reg. Mgr., for a New Hotel-Restaurant type liquor license.
If the character of the estblishment chances, then the licensee shall return to the
Beveraces Licensing Authority to chance, alter, or modify the license. Chance, alter, or
modify includes, without limitation, the following
1) Remaining oven past midnight
2) Amplified live music

Assistant City Attorney Sue Ellen Harris reviewed what Conflict of Interest is and when
it is appropriate to recuse one self from voting on the matter. Stating the reason to recuse
yourself is rf you feel that you can not be objective.
11. Matters from the Chair and Members of the Authority
Adjournment -The meeting was adjourned at 4:08 p.m.
