HomeMy WebLinkAbout895 - DECLARING that the City of Boulder agrees to assume the duties of reviewing entity for the stRESOLUTION No. 8 9 5 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOULDER CITY COUNCIL DECLARING THAT THE CITY OF BOULDER AGREES TO ASSUME THE DUTIES OF REVIEWING ENTITY FOR THE STATE OF COLORADO INCOME TAX CREDIT FOR QUALIFIED COSTS INCURRED IN THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES. WHEREAS, CRS 39-22-514, as amended, provides for rehabilitation tax credits for qualified historic structures throughout the state, WHEREAS, this is a major incentive for the rehabilitation, designation and protection of historic properties in Colorado and Boulder, WHEREAS, eligible properties include proper[ies designated as landmarks or contributing to the historic character of a historic district by a certified local govemment (CLG), WHEREAS, locallandmarks as well as contributing structures in the locally designated historic districts and the federally designated national register historic districts are eligible for the rehabiliYation taac credit, and WHEREAS, the City of Boulder, as a certified local government since 1985, pursuant to the provisions of 16 U.S.C. Sec. 470a(c)(1), as amended, is eligible to review such rehabilitation tax credit projects as a reviewing entity as defined by CRS 39-22-514(12)(I). NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Boulder City Council that it agrees to act as the reviewing entity for the Colorado historic rehabilitation tax credit for calendar year 2002.
