A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE 2006 CU BLUEPRINT
FOR A GREEN CAMPUS
Whereas, the University of Colorado at Boulder Environmental Center has reseazched,
compiled and published the 2006 Blueprint for a Green Campus, recruiting
members of the Boulder community to contribute their expertise and ideas to
the creation of the report, and
Whereas, the Blueprint details strategic policy and practical implementation steps that, if
carried forward, can significantly advance sustainability at the university and
in the community, and
Whereas, the City of Boulder also seeks to implement sustainability-related principles
and practices in order to protect the global environment and to preserve and
enhance the quality of life of all city residents, and
Whereas, CU-Boulder's impact on regional economic activity, social equity, and
environmental protection plays an important role in Boulder's sustainability
initiatives, and
Whereas, coordinated and cooperative implementation of the Blueprint's sustainability-
related recommendations would increase the cost savings, enhance the social
benefits, and improve the environmental protection efforts of both the City
and the University of Colorado.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCII, OF TI~ CTTY
OF BOUI.DER:
The City of Boulder hereby endorses the concepts and practices in the 2006 Blueprint for
a Green Campus.
